This recipe for Honey Garlic Chicken is so simple to cook and will be a favorite of your entire family!

Origin:

Honey garlic sauce is a sweet and sour sauce that is popular in Canada and tastes like a combination of honey and garlic. Above all, Honey garlic is one of the sauces that are used on chicken wings, barbecued ribs, and other foods like meatballs. usually, it is made with a mixture of ginger, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, and garlic.

Let’s move to the recipe for Honey Garlic Chicken without any delay because I’m super excited about it.

Ingredients:

FOR COOKING

  • 8 chicken thighs or 2-piece of chicken breast- (skinless and boneless)
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon cornflour
  • ½ tablespoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • ½ cup (80ml) chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce

FOR SERVING

  • ½ tablespoon chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • boiled rice

Directions:

  • Place the chicken thighs in a pot, then apply the cornflour, salt, and pepper. Place the chicken inside the cornflour until fully covered.
  • Meanwhile, heat up the oil over high heat in a skillet (a large frying pan).
  • Add the thighs of the chicken and cook until golden brown for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then cook the other side for another 2 minutes.
  • Add the butter to the skillet and melt, then add the garlic and stir. Turn the flame to mild enough that the garlic isn’t burning, then render the sauce.
  • After that, combine the honey, stock, rice vinegar, and light soy sauce in a bowl to make the sauce, and mix together.
  • Then add the sauce to the skillet. Turn the heat up and carry the sauce to the bubble, at that point stew for 4-5 minutes until the sauce lessens and thickens, and the chicken is cooked through (and not, at this point pink in the center).
  • serve it over boiled rice or any other type of rice of your choice and sprinkle it on chopped parsley and chili flakes over it.

Note:

You can swap chicken thighs with the chicken breast. I would recommend that the chicken breast be cut into thick slices, or that the chicken be flattened with a rolling pin to ensure that it cooks easily and uniformly in the skillet.

You can use apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar with 1/4 tsp of sugar if you do not have rice vinegar.

You can use dark soy sauce instead of light soy sauce.

Freezer Instructions:

Might be possible the chicken won’t stay quite as juicy but it will always taste amazing. Eat, cool off fast, cover the chicken, and freeze. Defrost overnight in the freezer, then reheat on a baking tray in the oven at 180C/350f. Once placing them in the oven, cover the chicken with foil to help keep it from drying out.

Cook for 12-15 minutes, until the entire piping, is hot.
